microControl - 19" Low Power System

Print

The microControl system implements a new strategy in the power supply of emergency lighting. It combines the advantages of known techniques and extends them with efficient LED lights to a easy planned, inexpensive and low-maintenance, comprehensive approach.

For the power supply of emergency lighting systems, two strategies are in place: a central battery supply for lighting and luminaires with single battery supply. Both strategies have advantages. For central battery systems, it is the ease of maintenance. The lead acid batteries used in these systems require replacement with a long interval of up to ten years and can be renewed at a central point with a low cost. Luminaires for central battery also costs less because of the simpler electronics. Lights with a single battery supply are easier to plan, to use and install. There are no complex fire-resistant wires needed, because their supply is not carried from distant sources. Battery and lamp form a building and planning unit, which always guarantees the appropriate sizing.

The microControl system divides the central power supply into fire compartments. In each fire compartment is a micro-control system with integrated battery power. This subdivision makes it possible to waive fireproof cable routing and installation. The performance of the microControl system with 500 watts for an hour or 200W for 3 hours is designed to supply a typical number of lamps in a fire compartment, so for example 30 ERT-LED Lights (DLE029) and 20 KM-lights can be operated for three hours. The output voltage of 230VAC and 216VDC allows also a supply of normal fluorescent lamps - in particular the escape route lighting. When using the almost maintenance-free LED lights and the automatic test facility of microControl it remains only the change of the battery pack in typical intervals of 10 years. The LED lights for the microControl system / central battery excel by the low price and a high energy efficiency, which will realize savings in operating costs.

By placing in the fire compartments and standardization of the power output, many of the design and installation steps otherwise necessary for central battery systems are dispensable. Nevertheless, the system reserves due to the interconnectivity between the microControl and visualization through a web interface, the usual clarity and ease of maintenance. The hierarchical display of system status and monitoring of luminaires in a building floor plan are examples. Even a remote monitoring via TCP / IP is possible.

In addition, the microControl can be used because of their high quality as compact classical central battery and thereby provides the same proven reliability and versatility of the MultiControl system. It is especially suitable for structurally similar buildings like supermarkets or restaurant chains, where they can be used as a standard component and be monitored centrally.
